After an amazing week back on Lemnos at Surf Club Keros I decided to stay a few extra days in Athens. Pete and Andy had a 21 hour layover, with pretty much the whole of the Thursday to spend in Athens. We had all booked separate accommodation so agreed to meet in the morning for a trip up to the Acropolis.

Day Trip to Orkney
So our wonderful hosts at John O Groats Guesthouse had booked us in for a day trip to Orkney. The trip cost around £65 and included the return ferry trip and the bus tour around the islands.
The NC 500 – Scotland’s Northern Route – Things to See
At the start of June (2019) my mate Pete asked if I wanted to go on a road trip. We originally looked at Ireland, but eventually decided on Scotland as it was a bit cheaper and I already live here! This post is a follow on from the accommodation post.

Accommodation on the NC500
Pete and I spent a week driving around the Highlands the first week of August and these are the seven places we stayed along the NC500 route. I booked the first four nights up the east coast and Pete chose the three places on the west side.
Weekend in Amsterdam
Earlier this month I took a trip over to Amsterdam to visit my friend Lizzy. Lizzy and I go back to 2009 when we met in the Royal Australian Airforce Gap Year program, she’s from Melbourne and now we both live on the other side of the world!
Dinner at Alchemilla
A couple of weeks ago I went and visited my mate Ben (previously featured in the kitesurfing post) down in Nottingham. I came from work in the Yorkshire Dales and had a bit of FOMO because my boss had been to a great tasting menu dinner and was raving about it. I wanted that, so I did some research on fine dining in Nottingham and convinced Ben we should go to Alchemilla (it didn’t take much convincing). We also invited Ben’s mate Rob – he’s coming kitesurfing with us in September – and we booked around a week in advance. Luckily they had availability during my stay. We had to give about 3 days notice for dietary requirements and 24 hours for disabled access (you can kind of see the ramp in the background of this photo).
Stuck in Doha
Last month I went back home to Adelaide for my dad’s 50th. Unfortunately for me, the check in process at Heathrow with the airline I chose was a complete shitfight. From the talk in the line, it seemed the flight before us was delayed, some of those people missed their flight, some of the people on my flight were put on the earlier flight, just a whole mess.
Budaful Budapest
Well I’m shit at blogging, last one was from July! My bad! Finally back at it with this blog about my trip to Budapest in November.
Remember my mate Dan from the Colorado Ski Trip and from last year’s trip to Warsaw? If you don’t remember (and can’t be bothered looking at the previous posts) Dan is a full time wheelchair user with a spinal injury (paraplegic). He’s also my travel buddy.
And this time we’ve gone to Budapest.
Kitesurfing in Keros – Wheelchair on Water
I’ve just gotten back from an amazing week on the island of Lemnos, Greece.
If you’ve been a long term reader of my blog, you may remember my mate Ben from my 2017 Colorado Ski Trip. He’s been on a couple of trips kitesurfing trips with Access Adventures but now it was time to go solo! And invite me along of course.

Skiing in Switzerland
Last year I joined an adaptive ski trip in Colorado and this year I ended up in Switzerland with a couple of wheelie mates. The Jubilee Sailing Trust stretched their land legs to team up with The Ski Company for there first (hopefully) annual disability ski week.
