Back in September I was talking to my mate Georgia who told me she was planning a holiday to Morocco. The dates just happened to fall in my November college break so I invited myself to gate crash the second half of her trip.

After last year’s lockdown birthday I wanted to something this year for my 31st. I decided to stick with Scotland, still wanting to explore, but most importantly, wanting somewhere with a hot tub.

Christmas in Northern Ireland

I didn’t want to spend Christmas alone, nor did I want to spend it at home. The state of the world meant that going overseas for a European Christmas would be that much harder with the varying rules for different countries, but I still wanted to go ‘abroad’.

The Outer Hebrides

In August I went on a 3 week solo road trip around the Outer Hebrides.

I love reading about other people’s travels but I find that a lot of people don’t include price lists – and when you’re working to a budget you want to know what the cost of things are!

I’ve tried to compile a comprehensive list of what I spent my money on, but I’m sure I forgot about the odd pack of crisps or something!

Pete and I spent a week driving around the Highlands the first week of August and these are the seven places we stayed along the NC500 route. I booked the first four nights up the east coast and Pete chose the three places on the west side.

Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – The Coastal Causeway Route

Brace yourself for a massively long post…

Northern Ireland, especially the Coastal Causeway Route, is one of the most outstandingly beautiful places on earth (in my humble opinion).

Our driving expedition started in Belfast where we made our way to Londonderry via the Coastal Causeway Route.
